
Regional Superintendents Set Future Goals for Mohawk Regional Information Center
2012-2013 Goals
The Mohawk Regional Information Center is governed by a team of administrators from participating districts and BOCES, commonly known as a 793 Committee. This committee sets policies and creates strategic plans that outline regional technology goals and drive the MORIC’s day-to-day and long-term activities and service offerings.
2013-2014 Goals
- Expand Model Schools’ staff development opportunities in order to ensure area districts have the support required to effectively implement emerging technology tools.
- Refine and expand mobile learning initiatives in order to support districts as they strategically implement these solutions to increase student engagement and achievement.
- Refine professional development offerings and data dashboard tools in order to ensure alignment with emerging federal and state education initiatives such as Regents’ Reform Initiatives, RTI, Common Core Standards, Partnership for Assessment of College and Career Readiness (PARCC).
- Continue to explore, evaluate and implement new and enhanced administrative systems to promote efficiency and data integrity.
- Evaluate telecommunications standards and infrastructure needs.
2012-2013 Goals
- Expand and evaluate the effectiveness of Model Schools' virtual and traditional professional development offerings in order to ensure area districts have the support required to effectively implement emerging technology tools.
- Research emerging instructional technology tools and their impact on student engagement and achievement, and communicate findings to districts.
- Expand professional development offerings and related data-driven reports in support of the Network Teams and Inquiry Teams' needs.
- Explore, evaluate and implement solutions that support administrators, teachers and students' effective use of mobile devices.
- Evaluate telecommunications standards and infrastructure needs.
- Continue to explore, evaluate and implement new administrative systems and enhancements to promote efficiency and data integrity.
The RIC staff will work closely with administrators, teachers, and school district technology coordinators to make these goals a reality and support the RIC Mission "To effectively support today's technology while envisioning tomorrow's solutions for all learners!"
